Penske takes control of IndyCar Music City Grand Prix at Nashville Superspeedway

Penske Entertainment will assume responsibility for promoting the NTT IndyCar Big Machine Music City Grand Prix at Nashville Superspeedway.

The 2025 race will be the season finale of the IndyCar circuit and will be held on August 31.

Penske Entertainment Corp. and Scott Borchetta of Big Machine jointly announced the new promotional structure for the annual race, which was originally held as a road course in downtown Nashville.

Big Machine will remain the preferred partner of the event. Anne Fischgrund, director of Penske Entertainment, has been named chairwoman of the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix. Fischgrund is moving from Indianapolis to Nashville following her tenure as general manager of the Hy-Vee IndyCar Race at Iowa Speedway.

Big Machine served as the event’s in-title partner for its first three races and stepped up as an additional promoter as the race weekend moved to Nashville Superspeedway last year.

Moving forward, Big Machine will remain involved as an asset to provide music programming and other off-track entertainment.

“The first year at Nashville Superspeedway was a tremendous success, in large part due to the tremendous partnership and strong leadership demonstrated by Scott Borchetta and his team at Big Machine,” said Penske Entertainment President and CEO Corp., Mark Miles, in a statement. “As we grow our event portfolio at Penske Entertainment, it is strategically important to take the reins of our season finale on such an exciting and renowned circuit. And seeing the relationship with Big Machine continue through this ongoing partnership only highlights the growth opportunities available to us in the Music City.”

The Big Machine Music City Grand Prix will continue as the 2025 IndyCar finale on FOX. The 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone finale will precede the NTT IndyCar Series championship race that day.

Nashville resident Colton Herta won his first oval race at the 2024 Big Machine Music City Grand Prix. The race included the most on-track passes, position passes, top-10 passes and passes in the top five. Alex Palou celebrated his third IndyCar Series championship during the race.

All 17 IndyCar races will be broadcast on FOX, starting with the season opener March 2 at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg,
