Scottie Scheffler is said to have committed to participating in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am for next weekend, according to Ron Kroichick of San Francisco Chronicle. The event will mark Scheffler’s return to the PGA Tour after having performed his right hand while he was preparing Christmas dinner.
The injury required a minor surgical intervention to remove “small glass fragments” in his palm, according to the agent of Scheffler.
Scheffler, a title player of the year on the PGA circuit, has not played in competition for more than a month, his last participation in the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas on December 8 and the Liv vs. PGA Tour Showdown with Rory McILroy, Brooks Koepka and Bryson. Dechambeau on December 17 in Las Vegas.
The injury made Scheffler miss the first three tournaments of the 2025 season. His initial plan after the incident was to open his year at the PGA West in Southern California last week, but he retired, invoking the need more healing time.
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am presents a peloton of 80 players, the largest among the flagship events of the PGA Tour. Scheffler ended equally in the sixth row of last year’s tournament after the weather conditions forced the event to be reduced to 54 holes.
Scheffler has just experienced a dominant year on the Tour last season. He has won seven times, especially at the Masters and the Championship Players, and he won the Championship Tour to finish the season. He won his third consecutive player as a player of the year, which only Tiger Woods did. Scheffler did not miss a crumb during his 19 departures on the Tour, and he only finished once outside the top 10 during his 13 departures before the US Open in June.
He also finished T8 in the PGA championship in May despite his arrest before the second round of this event in Kentucky. These accusations were then rejected.
